Welcome to AG Safaris! We offer an incredible 22-Day East African Safari in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda. Our itinerary takes you to some of the most breathtaking and iconic national parks and reserves on the African continent. Here is a detailed outline of our itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our friendly tour representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. You will have time to relax and acclimate before the start of your adventure.
Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park.
After breakfast, we’ll depart from Arusha and head to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and diverse bird species. We’ll enjoy a game drive in the park before settling in at our accommodation for the evening.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti National Park.
We’ll start early for a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park before heading to the iconic Serengeti National Park. Known for its vast savannah plains, the park offers an opportunity to witness the Great Migration, one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife events.
Day 4-5: Serengeti National Park.
Spend two full days exploring the Serengeti National Park, witnessing the magnificent herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other predators. We’ll also visit the Serengeti Visitor Centre and Olduvai Gorge, a paleoanthropological site where some of the earliest human remains have been discovered.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
After breakfast, we’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most scenic and spectacular areas in Tanzania. We’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest caldera, for a game drive and see the incredible concentration of wildlife that inhabits the area.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Arusha.
After breakfast, we’ll depart from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and return to Arusha. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the local market and purchase some unique souvenirs before relaxing at your hotel for the evening.
Day 8: Arusha to Amboseli National Park.
We’ll start early and cross the border into Kenya, heading towards Amboseli National Park. Known for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli offers an opportunity to see large herds of elephants and other wildlife species.
Day 9: Amboseli National Park.
Enjoy a full day exploring Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. We’ll also visit a Maasai village and learn about their culture and way of life.
Day 10: Amboseli National Park to Lake Naivasha.
After breakfast, we’ll depart from Amboseli and head towards Lake Naivasha, the largest freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley. We’ll enjoy a boat ride on the lake and spot hippos and other bird species.
Day 11: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve.
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the most popular game reserves in Africa. Known for its high concentration of wildlife and the annual wildebeest migration, Masai Mara offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Day 12-13: Masai Mara National Reserve.
Spend two full days exploring Masai Mara National Reserve, witnessing the incredible wildlife that inhabits the area. We’ll go on morning and afternoon game drives and also have the option to go on a hot air balloon ride for a bird’s eye view of the reserve.
Day 14: Masai Mara National Reserve to Jinja.
After breakfast, we’ll leave Masai Mara and cross the border into Uganda, heading towards Jinja, known as the “Adventure Capital” of East Africa. We’ll have the opportunity to go white water rafting on the Nile River or relax at our accommodation for the evening.
Day 15: Jinja to Kibale Forest National Park.
After breakfast, we’ll depart from Jinja and head towards Kibale Forest National Park, known for its population of chimpanzees and other primates. We’ll enjoy a nature walk in the park and have the opportunity to see other wildlife species.
Day 16: Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast, we’ll depart from Kibale Forest National Park and head towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. Known for its diverse ecosystems and incredible wildlife, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers an opportunity to see elephants, lions, hippos, and other species.
Day 17: Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Spend a full day exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. We’ll also take a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel, which offers a unique perspective of the wildlife and birdlife that inhabit the area.
Day 18: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
After breakfast, we’ll leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and head towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. We’ll enjoy a nature walk in the park and prepare for the gorilla trekking experience the following day.
Day 19: Gorilla Trekking.
This is the highlight of the trip as we embark on a gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. We’ll spend the morning trekking through the forest and have the opportunity to get up close and personal with these incredible primates.
Day 20: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to Kigali.
After breakfast, we’ll leave Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and cross the border into Rwanda, heading towards Kigali, the capital city. We’ll have the opportunity to visit the Genocide Memorial and learn about the history of the country.
Day 21: Kigali City Tour.
After breakfast, we’ll go on a city tour of Kigali, visiting some of the city’s highlights and cultural sites. We’ll also have the opportunity to do some last-minute shopping before preparing for our departure.
Day 22: Departure.
After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your departure flight back home. This marks the end of your incredible 22-Day East African Safari with AG Safaris.
