Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a representative from AG Safaris who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Kibale Forest National Park.
After breakfast, depart Kampala for Kibale Forest National Park, home to the largest concentration of chimpanzees in Uganda. En route, you’ll enjoy scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations, and small towns. Upon arrival, check-in to your lodge and enjoy an afternoon nature walk in the park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking.
Early morning, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the chimpanzee trekking experience. Then, set out to explore the forest in search of these amazing primates. You will have the opportunity to spend up to one hour with the chimpanzees, observing them in their natural habitat. Later in the afternoon, take a guided nature walk to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-based conservation project that provides habitat for several species of primates, birds, and butterflies. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, and the rare tree-climbing lions. En route, stop at the equator for a photo opportunity and a chance to stand in both hemispheres at once. Upon arrival, check-in to your lodge and enjoy an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Safari.
Wake up early for a sunrise game drive to see predators such as lions and leopards as they hunt. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The boat ride offers an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and several bird species. In the afternoon, enjoy a nature walk in the Maramagambo Forest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Departure.
After breakfast, depart for Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home. Along the way, visit the Igongo Cultural Centre, which showcases the history and culture of western Uganda. You’ll also have the chance to purchase souvenirs from local artisans. Drop off at the airport in time for your flight.
